VAULTING CHAMPIONSHIPS 2001 SCHEDULED FOR MASSACHUSETTS

The Board of Directors of the American Vaulting Association (AVA) has announced that the next National Vaulting Championships will be held at Mount Holyoke College, South Hadley, Massachusetts from August 11-14, 2001. It will be the first time in the 30-year history of the AVA that the national championship event will be held in the northeast. The American Vaulting Association and the American Horse Shows Association will recognize this competition and Rachel Markels Webber has been named National Championship Chairperson 2001.

The AVA expects entries from all over the United States for this special event. Top vaulters will compete for American Vaulting Association National Championship titles in the following divisions:

TEAM (A Team, B Team, C Team, Trot Team); INDIVIDUAL (Gold Men, Gold Women, Silver Men, Silver Women, Bronze Men, Bonze Women, Trot Men, Trot Women); PAS DE DEUX (Open Pas de Deux, Preliminary Pas de Deux).

Individual Gold and Silver vaulters will have their first opportunity to earn qualifying scores for participation in the World Equestrian Games (WEG) 2002 World Vaulting Championships, an FEI (Federation Equestre Internationale) recognized event to be held in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain.

Please visit our website at www.americanvaulting.org for more information about vaulting. The American Vaulting Association is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) educational organization dedicated to the promotion of Vaulting, an equestrian sport in which vaulters perform gymnastic movements in harmony with their equine partner.
