HRH The Princess Royal to address 2003 National Equine Forum

Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal is to speak at the National Equine Forum (NEF) to be held on Thursday 27th March 2003.

The National Equine Forum is the only independent conference for the horse world in the UK. It was founded in 1993 to provide an annual opportunity for communication in both directions between the grass roots administration of the horse world and those that influence decision making in government, industry and research in relation to horses and ponies.

HRH The Princess Royal will join The Rt Hon Alun Michael MP Minister for Rural Affairs DEFRA; Graham M Cory, Official for the Horse and Head of DEFRA Rural Economies and Strategies Division; Dr Derek Knottenbelt, Head of the Large Animal Teaching Hospital, University of Liverpool; R H Graham Suggett OBE DL, Consultant Director of Breeding, BEF, Diana Rhodes, Chief Executive of Blue Zebra PR; Richard Newton, Animal Health Trust; Lucy Katan, Groom to the 2002 British Team at WEG and Henry Tremaine, University of Bristol Veterinary Centre, to address more than 150 members of the horse world on a wide range of veterinary and general equestrian matters. The Forum will also include a presentation from the winner of the Eqvalan Equine Thesis of the Year, Lynne Uttley, and the chance for forthright discussion on a number of topical issues.

NEF Chairman Professor Sir Colin Spedding CBE said: “We are delighted and feel very privileged that HRH The Princess Royal has agreed to attend our eleventh National Equine Forum and very much look forward to hearing her thoughts on the current state of the equestrian industry.”

Tickets to the National Equine Forum are by invitation only – if you are one of the lucky invitees the Forum would be grateful if you could respond promptly to secure your place at this highly regarded event.

It is due to the generosity of sponsors ABRS, BETA, BEF, BHS, The Blue Cross, Dodson & Horrell, The Donkey Sanctuary, The Home of Rest for Horses, ILPH, Merial and NFU Mutual that we are able to avoid having to make an entrance charge.
