Royal Kaliber Named 2004 Limited Edition Breyer Model Horse

Gladstone, NJ—March 8, 2004— The USET Foundation is pleased to announce that Royal Kaliber, co-owned by Kathy Kamine and Chris Kappler, has been chosen as the 2004 USET Foundation Breyer model horse. Royal Kaliber, the Dutch Warmblood stallion, is the ninth Breyer model in this popular series.

Royal Kaliber and Kappler dominated the 2003 show jumping season. They became the first horse-and-rider combination to win the Budweiser American Invitational and American Grandprix Association Championships back-to-back at the end of the Florida Circuit. Kappler and Royal Kaliber were then pre-selected for the United States’ Pan American Games team and went on to win team Gold and individual Silver Medals. The pair also won the prestigious Grand Prix of Devon and the American Gold Cup.

In 2002, Kappler and Royal Kaliber turned in numerous wins including the only double clear rounds at the $175,000 Cargill Grand Prix of the United States at the Oaks Blenheim CSI. The pair picked up their first Grand Prix win of 2004 at the 32nd Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, FL in February by topping a field of 37 entries in the $50,000 Bayer/USET Foundation Wellington Cup CSI***.

The Breyer “Show Jumping Warmblood” mold was modified to create an accurate model of Royal Kaliber. The specially designed Royal Kaliber horse will be limited to a run of 750. In the past, the USET Foundation models have sold out quickly and become true collectibles for horse enthusiasts. The model will first be available for sale at the Show Jumping Selection Trials at the Del Mar Fairgrounds in California on May 14, 2004. There will be a signing at Beval’s in Gladstone, NJ, shortly thereafter as the east coast release.
