Vermont Summer Festival Launches Improved, Informative Website

East Dorset, VT — April 4, 2003 —The Vermont Summer Festival, a five week circuit of hunter/jumper shows in scenic southern Vermont, has re-launched their official website

www.vt-summerfestival.com, in response to the increased demand for “at your fingertip” information.

Exhibitors will now be able to access an easily downloadable Prize List and Registration in .pdf form, communicate to show management via e-mail links, review this summer’s Show Officials, print directions to the show grounds, and read the latest Horse Show news. In addition, complete area lodging information is available, including on-line availability and reservation requests. Official results will be posted nightly during the show, which this year runs from July 9 to August 10, 2003.

“We’ve seen a gradual increase in the demand for a full functioning website since we first launched www.vt-summerfestival.com nearly four years ago,” stated Dotty Ammerman, Executive Director of the Vermont Summer Festival. “Now the requirement is that the website must be useful, friendly, attractive, and up-to-date.”

Darlene McCormick, owner of Vermont-based Mad River Consulting, was commissioned to undertake the overhaul. “The visual appeal of show-jumping translates well to the internet,” said McCormick. “We coupled the excitement and emotion of past shows with the beauty and charm of Vermont to create enthusiasm among new and repeat exhibitors. We also focused on the customer service aspect, improving navigation and making information easily obtainable, quickly and intuitively.” The bulk of Mad River Consulting’s other clients are Vermont businesses, with many being tourism-related.

The Vermont Summer Festival is New England’s largest “AA” rated hunter/jumper horse show circuit. This year’s event includes five USE T-recognized $35,000 Grand Prix and five $10,000 Mini Prix to be held on the last day of each show. Each of the five weeks will also feature a $10,000 Show Jumping Hall Of Fame High Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper class, part of the Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series which determines which junior and amateur/owner riders will qualify to ride at the 2003 National Horse Show.
