A Host of Fun for all the Family
ILPH Summer Show, Hall Farm, Snetterton, Saturday 22 June

The Good News is that there is free entry to the showground at the ILPH Summer Show again this year and there is the possibility of winning £5,000 in the Grand Summer Draw as well !

One of the principle attractions in the main arena will be the daring stunt riding team, the 'Horsemen of the Apocalypse' who were so popular last year. They have featured in numerous television programmes and films, including 'Sharpe', Sleepy Hollow', 'Merlin' and 'Jason and the Argonauts' to name but a few.

Following on the Horsemen's heels come the Shetland Pony Grand National who, with their little jockeys, will be thrilling the crowds racing around the arena as fast as their short legs will carry them.

Other attractions appearing in the main arena include displays by the Kings Troop, Parelli Natural Horsemanship, Banham Birds of Prey and the West Yorkshire Mounted Police - as well as the draw for the £5,000 raffle winner and a parade of ILPH horses !

Comments Roly Owers, Director of Support at the ILPH, "We had a record breaking day last year with excellent feedback from all quarters - We are praying for good weather and an even better attendance this year"

In the ILPH Welfare Village visitors will be able to discover more about the ILPH's rehabilitation work with rescued and recovering horses and ponies. They will be able to go on a guided tour around the farm to see the facilities and some of the recently arrived welfare cases as well as those undergoing rehabilitation.

International Training Team members will also be on hand to explain about the farriery, harness making and horse management courses run by the ILPH in developing countries. Information will also be available about the ILPH Slaughter Horse Transportation campaign which starts in July with a Transportation Awareness Ride from Scotland to Westminster.

There will be trade stands, a kiddies' play area, refreshments and a Bric a Brac stall and a Tombola that is second to none, with numerous prizes and items generously donated by local businesses and ILPH supporters. Saddles, bridles, rugs, riding gear and bits and pieces can all be found on the second hand tack stall, all at knock down prices !

The adjacent Horse Show boasts 8 rings with 83 affiliated and unaffiliated showing classes throughout the day, 32 more than last year. Schedules available from local tack shops or by sending a sae to Mel Edwards at ILPH HQ, Snetterton, Norwich, NR16 2LR.

Alongside the Summer Show there will also be a Dog Show, with showing plus agility and flyball demonstrations. Those who are interested in flyball and agility can 'have a go' with their own dogs (only for dogs over 1 year old). Details on www.ilph.org, sae to Sue Pidduck at ILPH Headquarters for schedules - entries on the day.

All this and more promises an exciting fun day out for all the family !
