USA EQUESTRIAN ANNOUNCES RESULT OF INAUGURAL 2001 HBO/AHSA NATIONAL PONY JUMPER CHAMPIONSHIP

USA Equestrian (formerly AHSA) announced today the result of the Welcome Class at the Prudential/AHSA National Pony Jumper Championship, which took place on August 14th 2001 at the Western North Carolina Agricultural Center, Fletcher, NC.

Exhibitors from across the country competed for top honors after qualifying to compete in this event by being one of the top four rider/pony combinations in their Zone based on National points.

Welcome Class National Pony Jumper Champion - Whataya Know ridden by Heather
Rasulis, Willington, CT ; owner - Patty Graham Baker, Suffield, CT The judge for this new class was Steve Sarafin, Jr., Camden, SC.

The AHSA Pony Finals runs through Friday and will include the Pony Medal, Small, Medium and Large Pony classes as well as the Team and Individual Jumper Championships.




USA Equestrian Inc., as the National Equestrian Federation of the U.S., is the regulatory body for the Olympic and World Championship sports of dressage, driving, endurance, eventing, reining, show jumping, and vaulting, as well as 19 other breeds and disciplines of equestrian competition. As the country's largest multi-breed organization, the Federation has over 77,000 members and recognizes more than 2,800 competitions nationwide each year. It governs all aspects of competition, including educating and licensing all judges, stewards, and technical delegates who officiate at these shows.
