2003 Samsung Super League

Eight Teams selected for the 2003 Samsung Super League

At the conclusion of CSIO Athens, the eight teams selected for the Super League are the following:

Germany, France, Italy, Belgium, Sweden, the Netherlands, Great Britain and Ireland.

Switzerland had to win the Samsung Nations Cup of CSIO Athens to be the 8th team selected for the Samsung Super League. As they just missed the victory to finished second behind Germany, they finish with 8 points on the table below. However it’s the points won in the WEG that decide and Ireland is the last team qualified for the Super League.

The 8 Super League teams were selected based on:

1) Their placing in the standings of the Nations Cup competitions from March to October 2002 (ending with CSIO Athens (GRE) and excluding 2002 Nations Cup Final).

2) Their placing in the team competition at the 2002 World Equestrian Games (half the points of the standings)

The following 8 venues will host a Super League event in 2003:

1. La Baule FRA (8-11 May)
2. Rome ITA (22-25 May)
3. St. Gallen SUI (29 May – 1 June)
4. Aachen GER (17-22 June)
5. Hickstead GBR (23-27 July)
6. Dublin IRL (6-10 August)
7. Rotterdam NED (28-31 August)
8. Barcelona ESP (19-21 September) Final (double points)

(Falsterbo SWE 10-13 July is reserve)

The remaining CSIOs of the FEI Calendar form the Samsung Nations Cup Series.

The detailed rules of the Samsung Super League will be published once approved by the Bureau at its November session.
