Three-Time Swedish National Dressage Champion Coming to the United States

Los Angeles, October 25, 2002-- D.B. Enterprises announced today the purchase of three-time Swedish national dressage champion, Tip Top. While owned, trained, and ridden by five-time Olympian Kyra Kyrklund, Tip Top became the only horse to win the four-, five-, and six-year-old National Young Horse Championships, earning a one million Swedish Crown bonus for Kyrklund. The bay stallion will soon arrive in the United States for breeding duties and to be trained and ridden by Los Angeles-based U.S. dressage champion Leslie Morse.

"Tip Top is an amazing horse," said Ms. Kyrklund. "Winning the Swedish national championships not once but three times requires not just an athletic horse, but one who thrives on the show atmosphere and rises to meet the challenges of the world's best competition."

In addition to his exceptional show record, Tip Top is impeccably bred and scored extremely well at his Swedish stallion inspections. A well-proportioned horse, Tip Top earned all eights and nines on conformation during his stallion inspections, as well as an eight on the walk, a nine of the trot, and an unprecedented ten on his canter. His rideability score was nine.

Tip Top is by Master, who won the five- and six-year-old Swedish national championships and won a World Cup qualifier at his grand prix debut before placing fifth at the World Cup Final in Gothenburg with Kyrklund. Master's performance career was cut short by injury, but progeny such as Tip Top demonstrate his success in the breeding shed. Chagall, the sire of double Olympic medalist and two-time World Cup Final winner Gaugin De Lully, is Tip Top's damsire.

Tip Top was approved by the Swedish Warmblood Association in 1998 with merit class AB for breeding and has since produced elegant, light and agile offspring. Renowned international dressage judge Hans Barkewall said of Tip Top, "America is to be congratulated to get a stallion as superb as Tip Top. He will undoubtedly pass on his excellent gaits to his offspring."

To complement his breeding duties, Tip top will continue his competitive career with two-time USET Festival of Champions winner Leslie Morse. Morse just completed six months of training and competition in Europe under Kyrklund's tutelage. "Tip Top is the most elastic horse I have ever seen," Morse said. "He is a delight to ride and I am confident American audiences will be thrilled to watch a horse of his caliber."

Rocky Mountain Warmbloods in California will handle breeding arrangements for the 2003 season. With his conformation and movement, Morse believes that Tip Top is a perfect complement to big-bodied, powerful mares.
