The British Equine Event
Saturday 4th November 2000
The British Equine Event 2000

The 10th British Equine Event, opened its doors at 9am on Saturday 4th November. As an indoor event, it was unaffected by the recent bad weather - though the day turned out bright and sunny. The halls were buzzing almost immediately as visitors browsed through the fantastic range of trade stands and watched demonstrations by Kyra Kyrklund (Dressage, the basis of all training), Andrew Nicholson (Selecting and working the young event horse), Graham and Tina Fletcher (How to improve your show jumping), Bob and Christine Mayhew, David Lloyd (Western), Mikael Holmstrom (The conformation of the riding horse) and many more .
The British Equine Event The event which originally started with half a dozen trade stands exhibiting alongside a promotion of British Performance Sport Horses has steadily developed into one of the UK's premier horse events"

Karen Pearson, Equestrian Coordinator and Advisor to the Royal Agricultural Society of England.

The British Equine Event has always encouraged representation by all British Breeds from the very biggest to the smallest. Some wonderful demonstrations displaying a huge variety of breeds including the Miniature horse, the Quarter Horse, the Riding Pony, the Dartmoor, the Connemara, the Welsh A, the Cleveland Bay, the Donkey, the Mule, the New Forest the Spanish Horse, the Suffolk Punch, the Coloured, the Shetland, the Irish Draught, the Spotted, the Appaloosa, the Lipizzaner, the Exmoor, the Fell, the Haflinger, the Highland and the Caspian Arabian were organised by Pat Renwick.
