Mane Event Update - from Colleen Lethbridge, Director.

With only a few weeks before the show, it is all go with the Mane Event Production. Our performers have been working up a storm, with creative expansion on the original acts coming thick and fast. We honestly have to say that this year's Mane Event is going to be more fantastic than any other!

The lighting will be very different from other shows and we have included some innovative "big screen" visuals for our audiences. Plus music that we know everyone will love!

But of course it is the performers - human and equine - that really provide the excitement and our 2002 performers are determined to make Brisbane a great show. Our Jousters have now added a little 'Skill at Arms' skirmish before the jousting contest, the combined Arabian Clubs of Qld have gone into 'Cecil B. De Mille' mode with the set they are creating for the show, and Tania Kernaghan has been out for a practice session on her Quarter Horse for the act with the NRHA lads.

Steve Jefferys and his team (human & equine) have developed a "hero/action" piece with Baddies, crocodiles and the brave wonder dog, Jana, that makes Indiana Jones look tame. David Simons and Scott Rogers have been getting more and more adventurous with their Dressage vs Western ride off, and their wonderfully talented violinists, Shenton Gregory and Joanne Lack, are proving just as incorrigible in this fun 'ride-off'.

Then of course, there's our amazing stunt / trick riding team made up of special USA guest, Tad Griffith, Deb Brennan and Zellie Thompson - who will stop hearts with their amazing trick work.

So you see, besides all the beautiful, traditional acts such as Ulla Salzgeber, Spanish Pas de Trois, Side-saddle pas de deux and innovative quadrille work to be seen, there is also a lot of fun, laughter and excitement. We hope to see you there!

Some Legends Can Never Be Tamed!

>From the producer of Shrek, 'Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron' follows the adventures of a wild and rambunctious mustang stallion as he journeys through the untamed American frontier. Encountering man for the first time, Spirit defies being broken, even as he develops a remarkable friendship with a young Lakota brave named Little Creek. The courageous young stallion also finds love with a beautiful paint mare named Rain on his way to becoming one of the greatest unsung heroes of the Old West."

Come and meet the real live Spirit at the Brumby Protection Group stall number 1415!
