Josh Lyons Returns To Ithaka Bridge Farm As Featured Guest Trainer

Riding Clinic To Provide Training Techniques for All - From Basic Training to Advanced Reining

Josh Lyons will return to New Hampshire as the featured trainer for a three day riding clinic hosted by Ithaka Bridge Farm's Beverly Barney. The clinic will be held at the University of New Hampshire in Durham, NH beginning July 31 through August 2, 9 AM to 4 PM each day. The focus of the clinic will be on training techniques that will benefit all levels of riders and horses, from basic training to advanced reining. Participants will work on any or all of the following: softness, shoulder control, haunches in, direct rein, indirect rein, stops, circles, speed control, lead changes, canter departures, counter cantering and patterns.

Lyons, son of "Americans Most Trusted Horseman" John Lyons, is a renowned horse trainer in his own rite. He provides clinics and instruction, and is also a featured clinician at equine trade shows across the country. John states, "Josh is one of the best all-around horse trainers that I have ever worked with. Josh has surpassed me in his ability to work with both people and horses. Josh is truly the best." Josh won the 2002 "In a Whisper Challenge." The Challenge compared different training techniques and was looking for the best trainer of those considered "Horse Whisperers" or Natural Horsemanship experts. Competition was brisk showcasing the training
talent of Pat Parelli, Craig Cameron, and others. When all was done, Josh had earned the"Best of the Best Whisperer" title. Josh sums up his training technique by saying, "Knowledge and patience are the only tools that you need to bring with you into your barn." Joining Josh in this return to New Hampshire will be his wife, Jana, and their two children.

Josh Lyons was last here in March 2001, hosted by Beverly Barney, John Lyons Certified Trainer and owner of Ithaka Bridge Farm, Nottingham, NH. Bev reminisces, "It was a five day clinic - two days of round penning and 3 days of riding. It was a full house even though it was the worst winter storm weekend of the year! I am thrilled to have Josh back with the added bonus of Jana and the children. During my stay in Colorado I developed a close ersonal relationship with them, and am delighted to host them all here. I admire Josh's ability to train and teach and am looking forward to his sharing his techniques with us." Bev will assist Josh as he works with the
riders and their horses.

Pre-registration for participant riders is required. Boarding is also available. The public is welcome, and Josh will also take questions from the audience. Auditors can pre-register for a special reduced fee, or pay full price at the door.
