Arabian Horse Association Emerges as New Full-Service Breed Organization

The International Arabian Horse Association (IAHA) will merge with the Arabian Horse Registry of America (AHRA) as of April 1, 2003. However, they have been working under a joint operating agreement as the Arabian Horse Association since January 1, 2003.

The benefits of such a merger include:

one full-service organization to serve the needs of Arabian, Half-Arabian and Anglo-Arabian horse owners throughout the United States and Canada
a larger member base with 40,000-plus total AHA members now being served
one-stop shopping for members who only need to belong to one organization

The merger marries two distinct operations. The AHRA has registered more than 598,000 purebred Arabian horses since its founding in 1908, making it the largest Arabian horse registry in the world. It maintains a comprehensive database that connects the pedigrees of almost one million purebred Arabian horses throughout the world. IAHA was founded in 1950 and has grown to an association that supports 265 affiliate clubs in 18 regions across North America. It registers Half-Arabian and Anglo-Arabian horses, administers more than $4 million in annual prize money, produces national events, maintains official event records, recognizes more than 400 Arabian horse shows and distance rides annually and provides activities and programs that promote breeding and ownership.

United as AHA, the organization can provide Arabian, Half-Arabian and Anglo-Arabian horse owners with all the services expected of a top quality equine breed association. AHA staff and service consolidation will occur in March at the new location, 10805 East Bethany Drive, Aurora, CO 80014, former headquarters of the IAHA. The AHA is a 501(c)(5) organization.

AHASM is a 40,000 member breed association that registers Arabians, Half-Arabian and Anglo-Arabian horses, administers more than $4 million in prize money annually, produces national events, maintains official event records, recognizes more than 400 Arabian horse shows and distance rides and provides activities and programs that promote Arabian horse breeding and ownership.
