Keean White Congratulates Jessica Speiser on the Purchase of Libidou

Cambridge, Ontario – Canadian Show Jumping Team member Keean White of Cambridge, ON, wishes to congratulate Jessica Speiser of Armonk, NY, on the purchase of Libidou.

Libidou is an 11-year-old chestnut Dutch Warmblood mare by Topas who White, now 20, began riding in 2001. With an impressive performance at the 2003 North American Young Riders’ Championship, White and Libidou clinched the Gold Medal for the Ontario Team and went on to capture the Individual Silver. White and Libidou had previously been partners at the 2001 and 2002 North American Young Riders’ Championships where the Ontario Team won Silver Medals on both occasions.

In 2002, White and Libidou successfully entered the grand prix ranks placing third in the $50,000 HITS Grand Prix in Ocala, Florida, and second in the $75,000 Rio Vista Grand Prix during HITS Catskills III, in New York. These impressive results garnered White the title of ‘HITS Rookie of the Year’ for 2002.

Speiser, 16, purchased Libidou just in time to begin competing during opening week of the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, FL. Coached by Andre Dignelli, Speiser successfully began showing Libidou in the Low Junior Jumper division and, in only their second week together, enjoyed a second place finish in the $10,000 Low Junior Jumper Classic from a large field of 72 entries. Speiser soon plans to advance to the High Junior Jumper ranks.

“I wish Jessica the best of success with Libidou,” noted White, who operates Angelstone Farms in Cambridge, ON. “The mare is so willing and brave and always tries to please, and I know she will introduce Jessica to the top levels of the sport with confidence, the same way she did for me.”

One of Canada’s top show jumping athletes, White was named the 2003 Equine Canada Equestrian of the Year based on his outstanding results and was recognized in his hometown as the Cambridge Professional Athlete of the Year. After being named the traveling reserve for the 2003 Pan American Games in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, White made his Canadian Show Jumping Team debut in the Nations’ Cup competition at the CSIO Spruce Meadows Masters tournament in Calgary, AB.
