World's First Farrier and Hoofcare Online Conference Announced
- Top Industry Clinicians to Present Seminars to Worldwide Audience

August 28, 2002

Lebanon, PA, USA - The Farrier & Hoofcare Resource Center, in cooperation with Thoro'Bred, Inc. and Horse Trax Impact Reduction Systems, has announced a schedule for the first Farrier and Hoofcare Conference ever held online. The Conference, to be presented over the 3 day period of November 29, 30 and December 1, will feature 6 clinicians. They are:

Mitch Taylor, CJF
Barbara Page, D.V.M.
Rick Wunsch, C.P.A.
Matt Frederick, CF
Gene Ovnicek
Rick Burten, CJF, RMF

Topics to be covered will include a complete hoof dissection, hoof-pastern axis, farrier financial planning, managing laminitic horses, preventing lameness through natural balance, and a round-table discussion. People attending the Conference will be able to both see and hear the clinicians, as well as observe detailed information and literature using their Internet browsers. Questions will be taken from the "audience" in real-time at the end of each session, and answered by the clinicians. The last session will be a real-time round-table discussion, with input from the audience.

"This is a major breakthrough in farrier and hoofcare education," according to Baron Tayler, Site Manager of The Farrier & Hoofcare Resource Center. "Attending real conventions and conferences is a great experience, but the vast majority of farriers and horse owners can't take the time off to attend them. Or they don't want to spend what it costs to attend. When you total up travel, room, meals, registration fees and lost income, well, it adds up quickly. Using the Internet as the delivery platform, all those expenses are gone except for the registration fee. Online conferences will never replace real conferences, but they will make continuing education accessible to a much wider audience."

Every registrant will also be receiving a complete record of the Conference on both DVD and VHS media, courtesy of Thoro'Bred and Horse Trax.
