The Kent Group becomes APHA's latest corporate sponsor

FORT WORTH, Texas-The Kent Group, one of the world's largest privately owned manufacturers and distributors of livestock feed, has become the latest sponsor of the American Paint Horse Association (APHA).

APHA's involvement with the Kent Group, based in Muscatine, Iowa, will help the association provide enhanced prize packages for association activities.

The Kent Group comprises three feed companies, including Kent Feeds Inc., Blue Seal Feeds Inc., and Evergreen Mills.

Kent Feeds, also in Muscatine, was established 75 years ago and serves customers in the Midwest. Blue Seal Feeds, a 150-year-old company, located in Londonderry, N.H., has a customer base in the Northeast. Evergreen Mills, in Ada, Okla., serves the Southwest and has been in business for 100 years.

"With more than 300 years of combined experience in the feed business, the Kent Group has developed an in-depth knowledge of the needs of the livestock and companion animal industries," said Art Lurndal, the company's vice president of advertising, promotions and public relations.

"We are deeply committed to continuing our tradition of investing our resources heavily in research and development, continually making top-quality feed available to our customers."

Kent maintains manufacturing facilities and retail outlets in 23 U.S. states and is actively pursuing distributorships in other states.

"Our association with APHA will greatly help us reach even more horse owners with our product line," Lurndal said.

"Obviously, bringing a new sponsor on board such as the Kent Group is a welcome addition to our growing list of corporate support," said Jim Kelley, executive secretary of APHA.

" The company will be an active supporter of many of our programs. In addition to that support, the Kent Group offers us an affiliation with a feed company with a proven track record of research and development. Healthier, more productive livestock have resulted from this type of research and we in the horse business appreciate the Kent Group's commitment in this area. The company is recognized as an innovator in the field of horse feed and nutrition."
