Long Reining, Showing In-Hand and Dressage Seminar and Clinic With Bo Jenå
December 7,8 2002

Los Alamos Dressage Center is pleased to announce that it will sponsor an unusual educational and "hands on" Seminar and Dressage Clinic with Mr. Bo Jenå of Sweden on December 7,8 2002 at Los Alamos Dressage Center, Freehold, NJ.

Mr. Jenå is a world renowned expert on training horses from the ground using Long Reining techniques as well as training and showing sport horses "In-Hand". In addition, he is a Grand Prix Dressage trainer, competitor and judge. Mr. Jenå has worked at Flyinge, the National Stud of Sweden, for the past 30 years, where he has directed the dressage program and has trained and shown numerous stallions in long reins as well as under saddle up through Grand Prix dressage. He has also presented stallions in hand at inspections all around Scandinavia. If you have ever attended the stallion show at Flyinge, you might have seen Mr. Jenå riding one horse while driving another or showing movements of Grand Prix dressage with horses in long reins or even running with horses that seemed to defy gravity while trotting in-hand. Currently on a sabbatical leave from Flyinge, he is staying in the USA and could be seen standing and running many horses at "Dressage At Devon" this year.

We are pleased to present Mr. Jenå in a seminar and clinic. On Saturday Mr. Jenå will explain and demonstrate the use of long reins with green horses, those that are already trained and then for those that are working in high collection, such as piaffe and passage. He will also explain and demonstrate how horses should be shown at Breed Shows as well as to Inspection committees. After a lunch break, he will work with a few horses and owners who wish to learn more in a "hands on" manner.

On Sunday, Mr. Jenå will conduct a Dressage Clinic. He will first discuss some basic principles of dressage training and then work with individual riders.

Auditors and anyone interested in bringing a horse to work in hand or to ride in the clinic should contact Gail Carmona at Los Alamos Dressage Center for details and fees.
