A Veteran With Vitality

Despite his years, former police horse Hudson Bay, winner of the Veteran Horse Society's Supreme Championship at Olympia, looks full of vigour and vitality, and still has the enthusiasm of a youngster.

Thirty-year-old Hudson Bay, who is known at home as Crispin, is a handsome Cleveland Bay x Thoroughbred gelding, with a character that defies his age.

His presence both in and out of the ring, combined with his youthful looks earned him this prestigious title and the Minty Memorial Trophy.

Selected from over 2000 entries, competing in 468 classes nationwide, the final 10 went through to Olympia in December.

Crispin is owned by the Horses and Ponies Protection Association (HAPPA) and has been under the loving care of Sarah Frazer for the past 12 years.

When Sarah started to show Crispin she says despite the fact he is a former police horse, his initial behaviour in the ring was spirited, to say the least.

Now a reformed character, he is a shining example of what an elderly horse can achieve with lots of loving care, patience and the correct nutrition.

Sarah feeds Crispin TopSpec Feed Balancer which is a very palatable, nutrient rich feed, designed to balance the rations of all horses and ponies simply by adjusting the rate at which it is fed and the products it is fed with.

Said Sarah: "I am thrilled for Crispin to have won this class, and I am sure his superb condition is helped by feeding TopSpec Feed Balancer."
