Robert Smith Wins s'Hertogenbosch Grand Prix


Robert Smith enjoyed an extremely successful weekend, beating a world-class field to win the coveted s'Hertogenbosch Grand Prix and also finished runner-up in the World Cup Qualifier.

Robert riding Di and Pennie Cornishs' 9 year-old bay stallion, Marius Claudius, jumped the only double clear round to beat the Netherland's, Wim Schroder and Eurocommerce Montreal into second place and Germany's, Lars Nieberg and Adlantus AS FRH into third. Full results are as follows:-

Earlier in the day, Robert finished runner-up in the World Cup Qualifier on the 10 year-old bay gelding, Mr Springfield. Rodrigo Pessoa and Baloubet du Rouet took the top honours with the Netherlands Jan Tops and Grande Dame in third place. This result gave Robert a well-deserved 17 World Cup Points, currently leaving him in =16th place on the FEI World Cup Western European League Points Table. Robert will travel to CSI-W Gothenburg this weekend to seek further valuable World Cup points in an attempt to secure his place in the top 18 riders who will compete at the World Cup Final in Las Vegas (16 - 20 April 2003).
