Flexible travel protection from PolyPads®

A major aspect of safe equine travel is to choose the right protective gear for your horse and fit it correctly. Good travel boots should stay firmly in place for maximum protection, yet offer enough flexibility around the joints to enable your horse to move easily to maintain his balance.

PI Associates/PolyPads® Leg Protectors are the ultimate solution. Firm enough to stay in place on even the most restless of travellers, including youngsters, padded enough to ensure safety with comfort and flexible enough to give unrestricted movement and continual comfort for your horse, PolyPads® Leg Protectors are also easy to fit correctly. Just follow our top tips below:

First ensure you have the correct size for your horse. Too small and they will restrict movement and compromise protection. Too large and they will slip.
Place each Leg Protector carefully ensuring that the coronet band and heel are covered but that the Leg Protector is not touching the ground.
Do up the middle grip to secure the position of the Leg Protector.
Then do up the cleverly angled bottom grip making sure it fits snugly under the fetlock and firmly around the pastern, covering the coronet and heel.
Next fix the top grip making sure that it’s not too tight to restrict the movement of the knee or hock.
Adjust the tightness of the middle grip to ensure a firm but comfortable fit.

As a final tip when washing your Leg Protectors remember to roll up the grip fixings to prevent them from sticking to each other. The rolling also makes it easier to store them and to fit them next time.

Made in the UK from premium quality materials, PolyPads® Leg Protectors are generously cut and come in pony, cob and full sizes. They are available in a choice of eight outer and 12 binding colours with suggested retail prices from £40 - £46 for a set of four. Matching Tail Rappa’s are also available from £10.
