WEG Eventing - Irish Team Finishes 7th of 13

The Irish Eventing team today (Sunday) finished 7th overall out of 13 teams competing at the World Equestrian Games despite two of its four members being eliminated following falls on the strong cross-country stage yesterday.

Jane O' Flynn on Kilnadeema Star racked up just eight faults on the show jumping stage today, while Patricia Donegan on Don't Step Back took 17 penalties, leaving the Irish team with an overall score of 1214.40 penalties.

Individually, Jane O'Flynn came highest of the Irish, in 20th position, while Susan Shortt on Just Beauty Queen finished in 28th, with zero penalties in show jumping today. Patricia Donegan was 32nd.

Both Sasha Harrison (All Love du Fenaud), and Eric Smiley (Macloud) had been eliminated after falls on the cross country element yesterday, while Vina Buller's horse, Glencara, failed to pass the veterinary test this morning after some soreness resulting from the cross country stage on Saturday.
