2002 SAMSUNG NATIONS CUP FINAL WILL BE IN DONAUESCHINGEN (GER)

A working group designated by the Nations Cup Committee and formed of Dr
Bo Helander, Secretary General, Olaf Petersen, Chairman of the Jumping
Committee, Ulf Rosengren, Nations Cup Director, and Jan-Willem Koerner,
Chairman of the CSIO Organisers association, awarded the 2002 Samsung
Nations Cup Final to Donaueschingen (GER) from 22 to 25 August.

For all Nations qualified for the World Equestrian Games, the Final in
Donaueschingen will represent the last major event before Jerez and it
is expected that the best riders in the world will participate.

The season will be slightly shortened to adapt to the date of the World
Equestrian Games. The new 2002-2003 season will start the week after the
Final, with Gijon (ESP) and Rotterdam (NED) the following week-end and
then Spruce Meadows from 4 to 8 September (CAN).

Donaueschingen organised the Samsung Nations Cup Final in 1998, which
was won by the French Team.

HRH THE PRINCE PHILIP RECEIVED THE FIRST FEI AWARD

The FEI Award for Dedicated and Distinguished Services to Equestrian
Sport was presented to HRH The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, by HRH
The Infanta Doña Pilar de Borbón on the opening day of the CSI-W Olympia
held from 19 through 23 December 2001 in London (GBR).

Earlier this year, the Bureau unanimously decided that the first to be
selected to receive the newly created FEI Award should be HRH The Prince
Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, FEI President from 1964 to 1986, now FEI
Honorary President.
