Chaka Khan and Bjorn Again to Perform at “Denim & Diamonds: Back to the Future”

Wellington, Florida – December 18, 2004 -- Well-known diva Chaka Khan will headline at the upcoming “Denim & Diamonds: Back to the Future” gala, along with the internationally-acclaimed entertainment phenomenon Bjorn Again.

Denim & Diamonds will take place on Sunday, February 15, 2004, beginning at 6:30 pm, at The South Florida Fairgrounds in West Palm Beach. The gala is being held for the benefit of The United States Equestrian Foundation and The United States Equestrian Team’s efforts moving towards the 2004 Athens Olympics.

Chaka Khan’s amazing recording career has rewarded her with 8 Grammy Awards and 19 Grammy nominations. Her music touches upon the beat and sounds of rhythm & blues, jazz, pop, fusion and funk. Some of Chaka’s best-known hits are “I Feel For You”, “Chaka Khan – Chaka Khan” and a stunning remake of Michael Jackson’s “Got To Be There”. Chaka has been featured as one of the divas on VH-1’s “Divas Live” along with Cher, Tina Turner, Mary J. Blige and Whitney Houston.

Bjorn Again is the most successful ABBA tribute group in the world, singing a full repertoire of ABBA songs such as “Dancing Queen” and “Waterloo”. Having performed over 3,000 concerts in over 50 countries, Bjorn Again is undoubtedly one of the most sought-after live rock shows. And with the tremendous success of “Mama Mia”, the play based on ABBA songs and themes, Bjorn Again has skyrocketed in popularity.

With an expected crowd of over 2,000, the Chaka Khan/Bjorn Again line-up will almost certainly result in a total sell-out for Denim & Diamonds. This year’s theme “Back to the Future” will take guests back in time to six Olympic venues of the past century, then into the future of Athens 2004. This journey in time will be brought to life by event-planner extraordinaire Bruce Sutka.

Denim & Diamonds was last held in the year 2000, gearing up for the 2000 Sydney Olympics. In the late 1990’s, Denim & Diamonds raised over $1 million dollars for The United Stated Equestrian Team.

Individual tickets (non-reserved seating) are $300 each, with reserved tables of 6 at $5,000, $10,000 and $25,000.
