Meet Els
(from England)

Angie
Angie

Angie, aka September, a rangy 7/8 bred chestnut mare I brought over from Ireland as a three year old. She was actually broken in accidentally as two chestnut mares arrived on the boat together and one was supposed to be a five year old and one a three year old. The five year old was behaving like a maniac and so we assumed she was the unbroken one. I was working in the holidays for a dealer at the time and so next day she told me to tack up the quieter one -it was only when I was on board that I realised our error! However it did her no harm. I saved up enough money to buy her at the end of the holidays and owned her for 20 years. She went to intermediate eventing, won at HOYS and the Royal International and was the most perfect companion.I lost her three years ago with an incurable foot problem. This picture is of her winning York Horse Trials.

Wally
Wally

Wally, a truly wonderful horse, if a tad unpredictable. He was an angel in the stable, had the kindest temperament imaginable and was a complete barnpot in between times. He blew his brains in most dressage tests and never went clear show jumping. But across country he was unbeatable. Our highlight was representing Great Britain at the European Riding Club Championships in Poland in '93. I bought him as a four year old, just backed and aimed at a chasing career. In fact I think he always thought he was chasing! He also went to Intermediate and also won at the Royal International, although how I ever got him sane enough to get in the arena at NEC I'll never know.I lost him just over a year ago, with a tumour, aged 19.

Bill
Bill

This is young Bill, a 7/8 bred bay gelding, who is just starting out. These pics are of his first ever XC (above) and his first ever ODE (below), taken this year. He won his first event a month ago, so he is a worthy successor to Angie and Wally. He ia extremely cheeky and can buck for England, but when he's not doing that he's very good! Next year he will hopefully do his first affiliated events, if I'm not feeling too old! Will keep you posted.
